New Trend Textile pairs high performance with low environmental impact in the new products being introduced at the November 2011 Performance Days road show. Smart Dry, Heat Dry and EcoDai are just some of the innovative fabrics recently developed by the Taipei-based company.
A key supplier to the active and lifestyle sportswear markets, New Trend Textile is introducing new concepts addressing the need for high performance or low environmental impact.
The company will take part in Performance Days road show in November 2011.
Smart Dry
Smart Dry is a new fibre with a cotton-like hand featuring improved moisture absorbing properties thanks to a micro-grooved cross-section fibre and double-face knit construction. The special fibre instantly absorbs skin moisture and transfers it to the outer surface of the fabric where it then rapidly evaporates keeping the skin dry, comfortable and cool. Smart Dry also has a body temperature adjusting effect. Key applications for Smart Dry include casual shirts, sports shirts, running wear, hiking wear, and underwear.
Heat Dry
The Heat Dry range is based on special fibres that absorb moisture evaporating from the body, convert it into heat energy thus making the temperature rise. This advanced thermal insulation function prevents heat from escaping and keeps the wearer warm.
Heat Dry is also a highly effective moisture and temperature management fabric concept thanks to the grooved fibre cross-section which traps air inside the fabric and expels moisture to the outer layer. Heat Dry is based on a blend of micro-denier polyester and Tencel, offering a very soft hand that makes it an ideal fabrics for intimate apparel as well as functional sportswear.
EcoDai
EcoDai is another new addition to the New Trend Textile range. It is based on low temperature dyeing and offers subtle melange effects wrapped up in an eco-friendly reduced carbon emission concept. EcoDai fabrics are dyed at 98°C instead of 130°C and petrol consumption is 63 litres (per 500 kg of fabric in a dye lot) compared to 124 litres for conventional polyester (at a starting temperature of 25°C). The EcoDai fibre has enabled the company to greatly expand its offering of sweater-look knits.
