Taiwan: World''s largest OEM manufacturer of denim jeans partners with Intentia |

Intentia, one of the worlds leading enterprise software solution providers, is pleased to announce its partnership with Nien Hsing Textile Co., Ltd., informs the official press release.
The partnership will see the deployment of Intentia''s Movex Fashion solution on IBM''s iSeries platform, across Nien Hsing''s operations in Taiwan, Nicaragua, Mexico and Lesotho to integrate its worldwide business processes.
Nien Hsing Textiles is the world''s largest manufacturer of denim in addition to being the world''s largest OEM of denim jeans. The company produces approximately six percent of the jeans worn in the United States. Headquartered in Taipei, the company has over 18,000 employees in 11 factories worldwide. Nien Hsing is listed on the Taiwanese Stock Exchange and has a turnover in excess of USD 350 million.
Prior to Movex, the company was using an in-house developed system with more than half of their information being manually input. It was also faced with increasing pressures from the industry and customers to reduce their lead time, increase service levels and efficiently manage their global sourcing strategies conveys the press release.
This resulted in decreasing profit margins, primarily due to a lack of IT infrastructure that would integrate their global operations. Nien Hsing realized that to stay ahead, it had to invest in a collaborative solution that would enable integration of their core business processes such as manufacturing, procurement and customer orders across different locations, thus allowing them a 360degree view of their organization.
"With more than half of our information being manually processed, coupled with the information from our global operations scattered and disorganized, we were unable to cope with the increasing number of customer orders. We required a solution that would allow us to manage our operations on a global level," said R C Chen, Chairman, Nien Hsing Textiles.
In addition, it was vital that the solution implemented would help Nien Hsing to reduce lead times, improve customer delivery performance and streamline their administrative processes, which would in turn contribute to improve profit margins.
